Meet Coach Kayci
For a long time, counseling and therapy were the only service options for children.
They matter — but they're not always the right fit. That's what pulled me into coaching. For a lot of students, it's the missing piece: practical support for the parts of everyday life nobody ever actually taught them.
Coaching, to me, is about understanding what's happening, figuring out what might help, and actually putting it into practice. Not just talking through the hard part.
What I love most is watching what happens between a student and their parents. So many parents have spent years being their child's executive function brain — remembering, reminding, organizing, planning. One of my goals is to help students take enough ownership that parents can step out of that role and get back to just being a parent.
I'm not trying to change kids or get them to fit a certain shape. I want them to understand themselves well enough to navigate the world they're actually in.
The school counselor part matters
I spent years as a Professional School Counselor, so I know how schools actually work from the inside — what teachers can do, what they can't, and whether the accommodations on paper ever make it into the classroom.
That means when I'm working with a student, I'm seeing the school and the family around them too, and where things are getting stuck between the two.
I'm also a wife and a mom. This work isn't just professional for me — I support your child the way I'd want someone to support mine.
