Meet Coach Julie
35 years as a public school educator in San Francisco.
That time gave me the opportunity to work with and learn from children and parents of diverse languages, backgrounds, and cultures. It highlighted the important role parents play in their child's growth and sense of well-being.
After many years of working with children who had ADHD in my classroom, I turned to coaching as a way to extend my ability to reach children and families. I knew there had to be another way to help kids who were struggling at home and in school.
What I love most about working with children is their deep curiosity and endless imagination.
My approach is creative, practical, encouraging, and fun. I bring in each child's interests along with art, movement, improv, and stories, because kids who feel seen and understood can build on their strengths.
We explore questions like: What matters to you? How do you learn best? What gets in the way?
From there we work on the skills that make everyday life easier, like planning, organization, time management, getting started, friendships, and managing big emotions, and find the strategies that fit each child's brain.
Parents are part of this
I work in partnership with parents throughout. I never want a parent to feel alone in this. Together we look for ways to strengthen the parent-child connection while finding the right support at home and at school.
I want every family I work with to feel understood, supported, and confident, and to find ways to make everyday life a little easier and more enjoyable.
Education & Background
I've completed more than 100 hours of ADHD coach training through ADDCA (ADD Coach Academy), an internationally certified coach training program.
I've also completed ADDCA's 99-hour Family Trained Program, which focuses on executive function challenges in kids, teens, and young adults with ADHD or autism, and on supporting parents and families at home and at school.
Before coaching, I spent 35 years as a public school educator in San Francisco. I hold California teaching credentials in Multiple Subjects, Spanish Bilingual Education, and English as a Second Language, all for kindergarten through 8th grade.
